8 DAYS self-guided tour

minimum 2 people - Arrival/departure: LEKNES

Detailed hiking guide of the tour

This is a very complete Self-guided journey intended for nature lovers. It will enable you to explore the archipelago of the Lofoten Islands from north to south (from Svolvær to Å i Lofoten).

The Lofoten Islands are a world in themselves, combining both the hardness of steep mountains, the gentleness of lush valleys and small fishing ports nestled at the end of fjords. The unique, surprising combination of Alps in the middle of the Norwegian Sea, provides perfect terrain for hiking.

The bespoke nature of the tour enables you to choose one of several options each day or to combine them all depending on how you feel, and how fit you are. You can visit a Viking museum and/or set off on a hike in the wilderness or, if you feel up to it, go kayaking in a large fjord in the south of the islands.

Day 1: Arrive at Leknes where you pick up your hire car and then drive to Sørvågen in the south of the islands. Settle into your rorbus on the water’s edge for the next three nights.

Day 2: Choose between a hike on Moskenesøy, a small walk, or a sea kayak tour.

Day 3: Choose between a hike on Moskenesøy, a kayak tour or a fishing trip.

Day 4: Transfer to the northern island and settle into your cabins for two nights near Svolvaer. Choose between two walks on the island of Gimsøya or Vågan, or some visits/sight-seeing.

Day 5: Choose between two hikes in the area of Svolvær or a boat trip to the Trollfjord (mini-cruise/Sea eagle safari).

Day 6: Transfer to the center of the archipelago and settle down for two night. Choose between two walks on Vestvågøya or visit Henningsvær and the small villages on Vestvågøya's west Coast.

Day 7: Choose between three walks on Vestvågøya or Moskenesøya, and / or visit the Viking Museum.

Day 8: Return to Leknes, the end of the stay. Leave the Lofoten Islands.
